بعث نحو 150 ضابطا من البحرية الإسرائيلية وعشرات الأطباء برسالتين إلى رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو ووزير الدفاع يسرائيل كاتس للمطالبة بإنهاء الحرب على غزة.
وقال الضباط في رسالتهم التي وجهوها أيضا لأعضاء في الكنيست وقيادة جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي: “نحن، المواطنين المعنيين الذين خدموا ولا يزالون ضباطا قتاليين وعملياتيين في البحرية، تربينا على قيم جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي والدولة، وكرسنا سنوات من حياتنا للدفاع عن الوطن، نشعر برغبة عارمة في إسماع صوتنا في هذا الوقت العصيب. لا يزال 59 مختطفا في أنفاق حماس، والدولة تتراجع أكثر فأكثر عن التزامها بإعادتهم. ندعو إلى وقف الحرب وإعادة النظر في السياسة… المسؤولية تقع على عاتقكم”.
من جانبهم، وجه الأطباء رسالتهم إلى كاتس، ورئيس الأركان الفريق أول إيال زامير، وكبير المسؤولين الطبيين العميد زيفان بار، وقالوا فيها: “نحن الأطباء في الاحتياط في وحدات جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي المختلفة نطالب بإعادة المختطفين دون تأخير وإنهاء القتال في قطاع غزة”.
وأضاف الأطباء “في السابع من أكتوبر وقفنا بفخر للدفاع عن دولة إسرائيل. بعد أكثر من 550 يوما من القتال الذي أثقل كاهل الدولة، نشعر بألم عميق لأن استمرار القتال يهدف بالأساس إلى خدمة مصالح سياسية وشخصية دون أي هدف أمني”.
ويأتي هذا التحرك في ظل تصاعد الغضب الشعبي بسبب فشل المفاوضات واتهامات متزايدة لنتنياهو بإطالة أمد الحرب لتفادي المحاسبة على إخفاقات 7 أكتوبر، بينما تستمر المظاهرات الأسبوعية للمطالبة باتفاق يحرر الأسرى.
ويعكس الاحتجاج انقساما عميقا داخل المؤسسة العسكرية الإسرائيلية، ويثير تساؤلات حول مدى قدرة الحكومة على مواصلة الحرب وسط ضغوط داخلية متصاعدة، خاصة مع اقتراب ذكرى عيد الفصح التي ستزيد من حدة المشاعر الجماهيرية.
